Triconex 3007 Main Processor Module
The Triconex 3007 main processor module is a key component in the Tricon control system. Based on the Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture, it features high reliability and fault tolerance. Functional Characteristics:
- Fault-tolerant control: It adopts a triple redundancy structure (TMR), where three main processors execute exactly the same program in parallel, with complete triple redundancy from input to output. If one branch fails, the fault point will be eliminated and not participate in control operations, which can effectively identify and compensate for controller failure factors and reduce the possibility of misoperation.
- Data processing and voting: It receives data from input modules, performs data synchronization and comparison with other main processors via the TriBus, and conducts hardware voting on input data. According to the 2/3 principle, the correct data is determined, then the control program is executed, and the operation results are transmitted to output modules. Meanwhile, voting is also performed on output data at the output modules.
- Communication function: High-speed data communication between main processors is realized through the TriBus with a rate of 4Mbps, which can transmit analog, diagnostic, and communication data, etc. It can also communicate with I/O modules via the I/O bus with a rate of 375kbps, and connect with communication modules through the communication bus to achieve network communication with other devices or systems.
- Online diagnosis and maintenance: It has comprehensive online diagnosis functions, which can verify fixed program memory and static RAM, test basic processor and floating-point instructions, monitor communication channels, etc. It can monitor its own working status in real-time, alarm in time when faults are found, and allow routine maintenance during normal system operation without interrupting the control process.
Technical Parameters:
- Processor: The central processing unit is National NS 32GX32, 32-bit architecture, with a clock speed of 25MHz; the math coprocessor is National NS 32381, also 32-bit architecture, with a clock speed of 25MHz.
- Memory: EPROM memory is 512KB, and SRAM of the 3007 model is 1MB.
- Power supply: The logic power is 15W, accepting dual power supply. The power bus is arranged in the main rack, and the failure of one power supply or power bus will not affect the system performance.
- Communication interface: Tribus is 4Mbps, 16-bit DMA; the serial port is RS-232 (for diagnostic analysis), with 500VDC isolation and a 25-pin connector.
Application Fields:
- Petrochemical industry: It is often used in the unit safety interlock system (ESD), which can monitor various trip signals (such as pressure, temperature, etc.) of key equipment like reactors and compressor units in real-time, trigger emergency shutdown when necessary to ensure production safety, and can also be used in the fire and gas monitoring and protection (F&G) system.
- Power industry: It can be used for the control and protection of key equipment in power plants, such as steam turbine control and gas turbine control, to ensure the stability and reliability of the power production process.
- Rail transit industry: It can provide highly reliable control in key links of rail transit such as signal control and power supply systems, ensuring the safety and smoothness of train operation.
- Nuclear industry: The nuclear industry has extremely high requirements for the reliability and safety of control systems. The fault-tolerant characteristics of the Triconex 3007 module make it applicable to the relevant control and protection systems of nuclear reactors.
Working Principle:
The three 3007 main processor modules in the Tricon system operate independently, each controlling an independent branch of the system. The three branches of the input module respectively read on-site process data and transmit the information to the corresponding main processor. In each scanning cycle, the main processor communicates and synchronizes with the other two main processors through the TriBus, and votes on the input data. If there is inconsistent data, the third data is corrected based on the two consistent data. The corrected data is sent to the control program, and the 32-bit main microprocessor executes the control program in parallel to generate a summary table of output values according to user-defined rules. The I/O communication processor on the main processor sends the output data to the output module through the I/O bus, where voting is performed again, and finally, the correct output signal is sent to the on-site equipment to realize the control of the process.
