Product information
ABB 216DB61 trip output and binary input unit
Basic information
System: As a part of the REG216 digital generator protection module, it works with other units in the system (such as processing units, analog input units, etc.) to achieve comprehensive protection of the generator.
Installation specifications: Occupies a rack partition in a 19-inch 6U device rack and is compact in design for easy integration into the hardware architecture of the entire protection system.
Functional characteristics
Tripping output function
Output channel: It has 16 tripping outputs, which can directly drive tripping relays. These outputs can quickly respond to the tripping instructions issued by the protection system, and quickly cut off the circuit when the generator has serious faults (such as short circuit, overcurrent, etc.) to protect the safety of the generator and related equipment.
Fault protection: The output end has the short-circuit prevention function, which effectively prevents the short-circuit fault from causing damage to the unit itself and the subsequent trip circuit, and improves the reliability and stability of the system.
Status indicator: The front panel is equipped with an LED indicator to display the status of the activated relay, which is convenient for the operator to intuitively understand the working condition of the tripping output and detect anomalies in time.
Binary input function
Input channel: provides 16 binary input terminals, which can be used to connect external switching signals, such as the status of the circuit breaker, the action signal of the protection device, etc. Through these input terminals, the system can obtain the status information of external devices in real time, and provide basis for protection decisions.
Signal processing: It can process and transmit the input binary signal, convert it into a digital signal and transmit it to the processing unit for analysis and judgment, so as to realize the comprehensive monitoring of the operating state of the generator.
